Biography

Jeremy is a Principal Research Scientist in the Simulation, Optimization & Systems Group at Autodesk Research in Toronto. He is currently leveraging his expertise in ergonomics and the health and movement sciences to explore and develop human-centric metrics for analyzing and designing spaces that promote health and well-being. Previous projects include incorporating virus transmission models with occupancy simulation, exploring generative design of office spaces to minimize the likelihood of pathogen transmission, biomechanics-based tracking for human action recognition and behaviour analysis, and computational and biomechanical modelling of human musculoskeletal anatomy.

Prior to joining the Autodesk Research team, Jeremy was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (now Shirley Ryan AbilityLab), where he implemented experimental techniques, sensors, and musculoskeletal modelling to study orthopaedic surgeries used to restore voluntary arm and hand function following spinal cord injury.
