Project
Leveraging Robotics for Cleaner Construction Jobsites
Robotics
Could robots help keep construction jobsites cleaner and more efficient? Skanska USA and Autodesk Research collaborated to identify and develop construction use cases for Spot, the robotic dog platform by Boston Dynamics. After conducting testing at the Autodesk Technology Center and Skanska jobsites in Boston, the team found value in Spot’s ability to execute repeatable, autonomous missions that document and analyze jobsite housekeeping and cleanliness.
“Having the insight from construction companies – people who are actually on the shop floor – is invaluable. We can build robots and integrate software packages, but unless you know the real challenges people are facing, you don’t provide an adequate solution.”
