From Steps to Stories with The Bentway
How Autodesk Research and The Bentway collaborated to turn data into art
Every step we take tells a story. Autodesk Research and The Bentway have collaborated to translate these stories into an interactive data art installation, “From Steps to Stories.” The installation explores the connections between human experience and computer vision under the Gardiner Expressway in Toronto, highlighting how human-computer interactions can help us better understand how we experience and navigate public spaces.
Check out my recent blog post on this project to learn more about “walkshops” we ran throughout the summer to capture the experience, and how we’re using that data in the installation. If you’re in Toronto, you can visit the exhibition November 4-9. We’ll also have a version on display at AU 23 – stop by booth 1222 to come see us if you plan to be in Las Vegas.
In the meantime, check out this video that reveals a little more about the project. We’ll share another video once the exhibition in Toronto has completed.
I hope to see you soon and share more about this great project!
