Explore Design and Make with Autodesk Research at AU 2023

AU, Autodesk’s annual Design and Make Conference kicks off today! Tune in as thousands of innovators in architecture, engineering, construction, product design, manufacturing, and media and entertainment, share ideas and explore opportunities for the future.

As a research organization, we’ve been proud to work with Factory_OS to explore options to help address the housing crisis. At AU, we’re thrilled to share more of our work, as we unveil the full story of The Phoenix, an effort that will create more than 300 affordable and environmentally sustainable homes, built in half the time of a typical multi-family project, and at 60% of the typical San Francisco Bay Area price.

As the builders of The Phoenix, Factory_OS, has “cracked the code for this industrialized construction approach using rapid factory production to build housing modules that can be trucked to project locations and quickly assembled by crane. To quickly move models from design to production to residency, the team harnesses Autodesk’s cloud-based workflows for collaboration.”
