The world’s first open locating standard for industry and logistics

Omlox is a new industry initiative aimed at establishing an open locating standard and ecosystem that encompasses all locating technologies, including UWB, GPS, 5G, BLE, RFID, SLAM, and more. The goal is to connect these technologies to industrial applications in a uniform and seamless manner. This open ecosystem enables the sharing of locating infrastructures for logistics and allows for a mix-and-match of technologies, products, and services from different vendors and service providers.

During this presentation and demo, speakers discussed omlox and demonstrate two key building blocks of the system: the UWB-based Real-Time Location System (RTLS) from TRUMPF Tracking Technologies and the omlox Hub middleware from Flowcate. PROFIBUS/PROFINET International (PI) manages this new standard worldwide, with over 1,700 member companies.
