We kicked off the year with a list of predictions for 2025 as identified by Autodesk Researchers and some members of the Autodesk Research Residency Program. Key themes that emerged focused on transformative changes in various fields, particularly in AI, construction, and manufacturing. Take a look at this blog post to see if our teams’ thoughts from early this year are tracking.

Also in January, our team shared an update on AutoConstrain, a new feature announced at AU24 released in a Fusion update. In a blog post on this topic, the team shares why constraints matter, what AutoConstrain does, and how it uses AI.

The Autodesk Gallery invites visitors to immerse themselves in the now, next, and future of Design and Make technology. One of the projects currently featured in the Gallery highlights a research project aimed at designing and making more efficient jet turbines.

The SXSW EDU Conference & Festival brings together stakeholders to advance teaching and learning. One of this year’s panels, “From Daunting to Doable: How to Empower the Next Generation,” featured Jennifer Fox, Director of Research Program Management at Autodesk Research. Read more about the conversation.

The construction industry generates more than three billion tons of construction and demolition waste worldwide annually, accounting for approximately 36% of total global waste production. What if we could see through walls before demolition to evaluate and identify reusable materials. In this blog post, our team shares how they’re working on a project to do just that.
